Valentine's Day Treats

We were inspired by the Valentine's package we received from Madison's cousins, so we decided to make our own valentines for Madison's cousins and our neighbor friends.

We picked out a recipe I've had on Pinterest for awhile and made these Sweetheart Buddies. We made a triple batch and I used pink chocolates as that's all I had on hand, but it turned out pretty well, although we could have used more sprinkles. Madison enjoyed stirring the chocolate and chex with Daddy and was sad when she had to go to bed soon thereafter.

We picked up some bubbles and candy bags at Target and I made little tags to go on the bags and tied the bubbles on with ribbon. Madison enjoyed leaving the goodies on our friends doorsteps, as most of them were not home when we stopped by. I love these new traditions we are starting with Madison and that she's big enough to actually partake now.

Yoga

I've recently begun doing hot yoga with my neighbor Reena, as she actually works for a local yoga company called Core Power yoga. I set a goal to go three times a week in January and have been able to achieve that goal. I am someone who is completely inflexible, so I was nervous to start, but I've found that I really enjoy it. They offer a few different classes and I've enjoyed their medium level class, CP2. They also have a class called Core Power Sculpt, which involves working out with weights in an 80 degree room, which I'm pretty sure is crazy. The last one I went to I actually had to sit down as a I felt I might pass out, but the class was packed so clearly it has a draw......

I think as a mom it's easy to get lost in everyone else's needs and it has been nice to focus on myself a little bit during the week. I've felt a better sense of mind since I've done this, I'm not sure if it's just sticking to a goal or the actual working out, but it certainly has made a difference. Nick is a big believer in meditating and I know it works, but am just not sure it's my cup of tea. However, I have spent my time in yoga thinking about being intentional in my thoughts and actions and I do feel that it's made me more patient with Madison.

Here are a few of my yoga gear favorites below.

Lululemon - The Mat
Lululemon - Refresh Racer Tank
Under Armour Essential Bra

Also, Madison loves yoga! She can do downward dog perfectly.

Bailey at the Vet

So Bailey has been itching nonstop for the past month. Now that Bailey has his very own health plan (read more about animal healthplans here), we decided it couldn't hurt to take him to the vet.

In talking with the vet, I learned that dogs can get allergies! The doctor recommended a tablet of benadryl a day to see if that helps. Who knew that animals and humans could take the same medicine?
